Cookie Policy

This page explains what XFind stores on your device, what it records when you visit, and which of those things you can switch off. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

XFind does not run advertising cookies, does not sell personal data, and does not use tracking that follows you across other websites.

There are two separate categories, and only one of them is optional.

Security and site integrity — always active. A record is kept of each visit to protect the site. This category cannot be switched off, because it is what allows us to detect impersonation, fraudulent or automated submissions, and abuse of this website. XFind is a scam-awareness service and is itself a target for impersonation, so this record is treated as essential rather than optional.

Optional analytics — your choice. Aggregate measurement that helps us understand which resources visitors find useful and whether pages are working properly. This is switched off entirely if you decline, and nothing in this category is collected until you agree.

On each visit, and when you send an inquiry, we receive and record a limited set of technical details. These include the page you arrived on, how you reached the site, your device category and browser, your language and time settings, the network identifier assigned to you by your provider, and the broad geographic area your connection appears to originate from.

That area is approximate only. It may be expressed as a city, wider region, country, or a general map reference for that area. It is not precise location data, does not identify your address or whereabouts, and is never taken from your device's positioning features.

Your browser also keeps a small record on your own device noting that you have visited before, when you first arrived, and roughly how many times you have returned. It contains no name or contact details, is not linked to any profile, and is not used to follow you elsewhere. Clearing your browsing data removes it, and using a different browser or device starts it again.

This category is kept to what site security and fraud prevention require. It applies whether you accept or decline, and we state that plainly on the consent panel rather than implying otherwise.

If you accept, we record aggregate usage such as pages viewed, general interaction and navigation patterns, and basic performance timings. This is used to improve our resources and to confirm the site is functioning correctly.

If you decline, this category does not run at all. No analytics session is started, no usage events are recorded, and none are sent anywhere. Declining does not limit your access to any part of the site.

Consent record. Stores your accept or decline choice, and the date you made it, so you are not asked repeatedly. Kept for up to one year.

Visit history. Held in your browser's local storage. Notes first arrival, most recent activity, and an approximate return count, as described above.

Session and functional storage. Short-lived entries that keep the site working as you move between pages, including remembering that the opening screen has already played during your current browser session.

Analytics storage. Written only if you accept optional analytics, and used to group activity within a single visit.

Operating this website involves a small number of processors that help with hosting, security monitoring, notifications, communications and payments. Information in the categories above may be handled by those providers strictly to deliver those functions. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for third-party marketing.

Select Manage Cookies at the bottom of any page to review or change your decision at any time. Your existing setting is shown when the panel opens, and is only replaced once you choose again.

You can also close the panel without deciding. Nothing is recorded if you do, optional analytics remains switched off, and you will simply be asked again on a later visit.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the site function, and it does not remove the security record described in section 3, which is not dependent on optional cookies.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data through the Data Requests page, subject to lawful retention requirements. Where information is retained for security and fraud prevention, we may keep it for as long as necessary for that purpose.

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated date above will show when changes were made.
